Kimberley Tyson is an accomplished business executive and entrepreneur with expertise in the “gracious living” sector of the home furnishings industry. She began as an educator and psychology major that imparted customer lifestyle sensitivities and preference understandings that formed the foundation of her 30-year career. She was most recently a senior executive for a major multinational corporation.
Teacher, team builder, strategist, creative planner, and effective director are all but a few adjectives to describe Kimberley in the business arena. Faithful, dedicated, and giving are attributes in her personal and community life.
Kimberley attended Converse College in South Carolina and then graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1978. She was a tennis instructor throughout high school and college, but following her education she became a high school teacher in English and Advanced Mathematics. Nurturing young adults to learn, grow, and expand their skills was a joy that Kimberley continued to experience throughout her career as she lectured at colleges, taught church classes, and worked in the furniture industry improving sales staff’s professional capabilities. Her warm, competent manner and strong interpersonal skills have helped her establish long lasting customer loyalties around the world.
After a 5-year indoctrination in retail store management, Kimberley entered the furniture manufacturing industry. She headed the customer service organization for a major office/hospitality/institutional furniture manufacturer, and later progressed into sales. Kimberley then represented industry leader Baker Furniture for 15 years, first in hospitality products and then residential product sales. She was responsible for the southeast and mid-Atlantic territories of the United States. Kimberley developed distribution and oversaw the regions top dealers, architects, showrooms, and designers. She also managed sales to many of the top hospitality properties and firms represented nationwide.
Kimberley’s creative side was well utilized while working at Baker. She was responsible for store merchandising proposals and worked with store display personnel. She achieved a look that was consistent in representing Baker products at the high-end retail level. She also advised the company’s product development teams for special designs and future introductions.
Following her years at Baker, Kimberley began her own company representing to the trade premier lines that included EJ Victor and Christopher Guy. Christopher Guy later convinced her to join the company’s executive office. Kimberley became the Vice President of Sales, with her primary focus on the United States and Canada. She was responsible for sales, merchandising of key accounts, and the High Point showroom facility. She also provided secondary support throughout the company’s international markets and assisted with product development concepts. In North America she oversaw a sales team of over 30 of the industry’s finest representatives that focus on residential and hospitality markets. Kimberley consistently met with the top residential dealers, showrooms, designers, and hotel properties in the country promoting Christopher Guy and the company’s beautiful spectrum of furnishings and accessories. Kimberley’s high profile and broad market exposure allowed her to recognize trends as well as identify key components and product assortment opportunities that helped to consistently retain a dominant worldwide position in its targeted luxury market.
For the last two years she has represented multiple confidential clients in the home furnishings and hospitality industries through her company Anatole Advantage Group.
